Apple made a huge announcement at the Spring Loaded virtual event when they revealed the new iPad Pro and Apple TV 4K, but the thing that has the internet buzzing is the new and improved iMac that come in a refreshing redesign, with seven colors and a lineup of amazing features.

What’s New?

From a 21-inch screen to an upgraded 24-inch screen, the new iMac model is 3 inches larger than the old model and comes with an anti-reflective coating and 4.5K screen, replacing the old Retina version and giving users an outstanding visual experience. The camera of this model has a larger sensor to help perform even in low light conditions – this, paired with a 1080p camera, will definitely make your virtual meetings feel more personal! The keyboard also has a Touch ID feature that secures your computer and protects your fingerprint data. To top it off, it also has a sleek look with rounded corners, a new emoji key, and improved microphone and speakers.

M1

The new iMac is the latest product that sports the M1 chip, Apple’s own in-house processor, making the company the only major PC maker that does not rely on a third-party microprocessor supplier. The M1 is more powerful and energy-efficient, which translates to longer battery life, smaller and slimmer designs, and more room to include new technologies in their products.

With Apple’s $1.5 billion investment to procure more than half a dozen companies and more than a decade spent on research and development, the resulting M1 chip has surely paid off, giving Apple better control of their products and introducing new powerful and energy-efficient products into the market, so we can definitely expect more surprises from the tech giant.

The new iMac showcases Apple’s biggest redesign since 2012 and will be available for pre-order on April 30, 2021 starting at a price of $1,299 so keep an eye out!
